The goal of the project is to build a modern transport terminal in such a way so as to guarantee mutual interlinking of the individual types of mass transport, i.e. bus, rail, and municipal mass transport.

The “UHERSKÝ BROD TRANSPORT TERMINAL” project is divided into two basic stages:

STAGE I

The proposal for this stage involves the construction of access footbridges which will divert all pedestrian traffic and some cycling traffic away from the area of the station forecourt and create an accessible connection between the two parts of town separated by the railway track area. The result of this stage will be to separate pedestrian routes from private and public road or motor vehicle traffic. This stage was completed in 2010.

STAGE II

This stage involves building parallel boarding platforms for public bus transport in the immediate vicinity of the railway station building, and the construction of comprehensive transfer hub infrastructure. This phase includes the modernisation of the station building according to a common ticketing and information system for all types of public transport. This will be integrated with the railway in order to secure non-clashing transfers between bus and railway boarding platforms. The station forecourt area connecting to the access footbridge will be modified in the same manner. The area next to the bus platforms and dispatch building will accommodate P+R parking, K+R, B+R and new areas of public greenery.

ČD, a.s. is not involved in this project as a subsidy recipient, but merely as the lessor of adjacent land plots affected by the revitalisation of the station forecourt area. ČD is the realisor of the station building reconstruction as the centre of the transport terminal. The recipient of the subsidy to revitalise the station forecourt is the City of Uherský Brod.

Total project expenses: c. CHF 8 mil.
