From 1 February 2024, České dráhy, acting in cooperation with Liftago, is going to launch a new service for passengers affected by railway incidents. This new service will provide alternative taxi transport to the destination station for passengers in cases when railway transport is interrupted by such events as accidents on level crossings, breakdowns on the railway line or collisions with persons when no other mode of transport can be arranged for. Moreover, thanks to this cooperation, there will be no need to deal with the issues of reimbursement of the travel costs, because the billing will take place between Liftago and České dráhy automatically, the passenger will not pay anything.

The new cooperation with Liftago aims to increase passengers’ comfort and satisfaction when dealing with incidents occurring on the railway infrastructure. The alternative transport with Liftago is designed to provide passengers finding themselves in unexpected situations with fast and trouble-free transport to their destination stations. Thanks to the fact that Liftago covers a large part of the territory of the Czech Republic with its vehicles, we will be able to deal with passengers’ requirements more quickly and efficiently.

Procedure in the event of a need for alternative transport service

1. Please contact a ČD employee – train conductor, ticket office attendant or directly the Central Customer Service (CCS) of České dráhy

As soon as an incident occurs which makes it impossible to continue travelling by train, provide the ČD employees with your contact details and wait for further instructions.

2. Arranging for a transport service via Liftago

If no other mode of transport can be arranged for and you are situated in the area covered by the Liftago service (approximately 80% of the Czech Republic), the CCS will order transport for you directly. You will receive the information data about the vehicle and all other necessary information and instructions from the taxi driver. You will not pay anything for transport up to CZK 1,500. This amount will cover most standard journeys.

3. Alternative procedure out of Liftago’s reach

In case you find yourself out of the Liftago’s service reach, you will have an option of ordering a taxi service in the traditional way – after obtaining the so-called consent number, which is to be provided by the train conductor, ticket office attendant or directly by the CCS. This is important in order that you can be reimbursed by České dráhy for transportation costs up to CZK 1,500 per car.
