The national carrier Czech Railways devotes considerable effort to modernization and continuous improvement of its activities and processes. As a major employer, we also focus on our role in the area of social responsibility. That is why we place emphasis on quality and compliance with legal requirements in our activities.
One of the tools for achieving these goals is the established and certified quality management system, occupational health and safety management system and, since 2015, the energy management system. ČD has this management system set up according to the internationally recognized requirements of ISO 9001, ISO 45001 and ISO 50001.
The top management of Czech Railways is committed to meeting the requirements of these international standards and in accordance with them has announced the Joint Policy of ISO/SMS Management Systems, the OSH Policy and the Energy Policy of ČD, which are based on the company's mission and values. In the area of energy management, thanks to the scope of activities of the National Carrier and the total number of our employees, we consider the introduction of an energy management system to be a socially important step.
Recertification and supervisory audits annually confirm that the integrated management system is maintained and constantly improved. The independent international certification company TAYLLORCOX s. r. o. verified fulfillment with the requirements of the standards required by ISO 9001 and ISO 45001 standards as part of a recertification audit in June 2022. Based on the established facts, it again confirmed fulfillment with the requirements of these standards and issued new certificates for České dráhy, a.s.
In November 2021, ČD carried out a recertification audit to meet the requirements of the ISO 50001 standard in the field of energy management. The result for ČD is an extension of the validity of the certification for another three-year period.
The results of the certification process are not only a success for us, but also another commitment in our efforts to continue and provide quality service with socially responsible standards of our time. We value our customers and business partners. Representatives of ČD’s management from the point of view of the requirements of ISO standards are designated by the CEO and his deputies within their competence. The actual functioning and performance of ISO management systems is the responsibility of the relevant senior employee of the ČD department.
