From Wednesday 15 November 2023 (22:00 hours) till Thursday 16 November 2023 (18:00 hours), a strike organised by the GDL Trade Union organisation will take place in Germany. The strike will affect the operation of the trains operated by the Deutsche Bahn carrier. The operation of international trains between the Czech Republic and Germany will be partially restricted.
In long-distance transport, the strike will affect the Prague – Berlin – Hamburg / Kiel / Flensburg EC trains (they will run only in the Prague – Dresden section or Prague – Děčín section and back). In regional transport, the Cheb – Nürnberg fast trains will not run. It is necessary to count on various minor restrictions on some services already today in the evening in the direction to Germany and on Friday in the morning in the direction from Germany.
Passengers are advised not to travel to Germany during the strike. Returns of the tickets issued on the ČD trains for travel dates of 15 and 16 November 2023 to and from Germany, within the framework of Germany and in transit through Germany will be made by the ČD carrier without any deduction. The tickets issued in advance from and to Germany, within the framework of Germany and in transit through Germany for the travel dates of 15 and 16 November 2023 may be used at any time from 15 November to 23 November 2023. The link to a specific train is cancelled for such tickets. Passengers are advised to purchase seat reservations for new journeys.
