New Vending Machines Installed on the ČD Trains to Offer a Comfortable and Fast Way to Purchase Tickets

Passengers on the board of trains operated by České dráhy can encounter new ticket vending machines. The first region where the new generation of the “MOPAJ” (Mobile Ticket Vending Machine) equipment has been installed is the Zlín Region. Other regions will gradually follow. In addition to buying a ticket, the vending machine offers also other functions, such as the possibility of charging an electronic wallet on the In Karta discount cards or on the IDS cards.

MOPAJ is a self-service vending machine which serves primarily for the purchase of tickets onboard a train. A new generation of these vending machines will gradually appear on other regional trains and at selected railway stations all over the country. Compared to the previous model, the vending machines now offer a number of improvements. These include, for example, a touchscreen display or a completely redesigned fare offer model and purchasing process.

The operation of the automatic vending machine is simple and intuitive. Customers can search for connections there and purchase their tickets comprehensively within the framework of the region, as well as for journeys outside the region. Naturally, there is a choice of the fare tariff type, no matter whether it is a ČD fare system, IDS fare system or One Ticket System.

The first new vending machines appeared in the Zlín Region, where altogether 16 vending machines of this type are currently installed on the board of the RegioShark and Regionova trains. Preparations are underway to place these machines in the RegioPanter vehicles, which are to be deployed in the region from the new timetable. Passengers can use them to purchase any individual ticket of the Integrated Transport System of the Zlín Region (IDZK) as well as selected time tickets. At the same time, they can charge their electronic wallet by using the vending machine or check their uploaded tickets on the IDS chip card (ZETKA and ODISka). The automatic machine can also simultaneously take into account whether the passengers buy a follow-up IDZK ticket within the framework of a transfer between trains or want to add a part of the route to a time coupon.

This year, passengers in the Pardubice Region will also encounter the new MOPAJ ticket vending machines because the RegioSpider and Regionova vehicles are to be equipped with these machines. It is also expected that the new generation terminals will be gradually installed in the railway transport vehicles in the South Bohemian Region, Central Bohemian Region, Ústí nad Labem Region and Liberec Region. The new-generation MOPAJ vending machines are being installed at selected railway stations in the Pilsen Region. If there is also interest from other parties ordering regional transport services, the vending machines will appear in other regions as well.
