During the night from Saturday to Sunday 28/29 October, daylight saving time ends and the clock hands will move back one hour at 3:00 hours. A total of seven ČD long-distance trains will be on the way at that time. Six night long-distance trains with accommodation carriages, which are operated by České dráhy and their foreign partners, will wait for their departure in the second part of the night according to Central European Time (CET). If these trains did not remain stationary, they would run an hour earlier after the time change on the rest of the route. Regional trains will not be affected by the one-hour waiting, as none are running at the moment of the time changeover. Morning trains will then already depart according to CET.

Noční vlak

On the territory of the Czech Republic or Slovakia, the time change will affect a total of four night long-distance trains of České dráhy and its partners. They will be stationary for an hour in the second part of the night and will depart according to the new Central European time:

  • EN 442 Slovakia Humenné – Prague will wait at the Čadca railway station, departing at 02:13 hours (CET),
  • EN 97443/443 Slovakia Prague – Humenné will wait at the Bohumín station, departing at 03:00 hours (CET),
  • nightjet 456 Graz – Berlin will wait at the Bohumín railway station, departing at 02:40 hours (CET),
  • nightjet 457 Berlin – Graz will wait at the Bohumín railway station, departing at 02:15 hours (CET).

At the same time, České dráhy will ensure the mutual transfer of all groups of direct carriages between all night trains at the Bohumín and Břeclav railway stations and, as usual, all planned direct connections (i.e., Prague – Bohumín – Cracow – Warsaw, Graz / Budapest – Břeclav – Bohumín – Cracow – Warsaw, Graz / Budapest – Břeclav – Bohumín – Wroclaw – Berlin and Praha – Břeclav – Budapest, or vice versa).

Passengers using the direct night connection from Prague via Leipzig, Frankfurt am Main and Basel to Zurich and back should also take into account the one-hour time shift back. They will be on the section between Leipzig and Frankfurt during the time change, where they will also wait for departure according to Central European Time. There will be no direct sleeper from Prague to Zurich and back via Linz during the weekend time changeover due to the railway line closure.

The IC 571 Jiří Bouda midnight train departing from the Praha hl. n. railway station (departure at 00:01 hours) will arrive at the main railway station in Brno without waiting for the time changeover.

Regional trains will not be affected by the time change, as no such trains are operated by ČD at the time of the one-hour shift back. All regional trains will run in the morning already according to CET.

Passengers can check the current position of trains in the "Můj vlak" ("My Train") mobile application, on the website www.cd.cz/en/vlak or by calling the ČD Contact Centre at +420 221 111 122.
