The ComfortJet Unit to Make a Test Run to Germany

Within the framework of the trial operation, approval and preparation for the ComfortJet unit operation on international routes, a test run with the unit no. 003 to Germany will take place from 22 to 24 July 2024.

The objective of the test run is practical verification of the correct operation of all train equipment, e.g. correct functioning of the central energy source, air conditioning, information system, door control systems and other elements on the railway infrastructure in Germany on the 15 kV 16.7 Hz power supply system, which is not used in the Czech Republic. However, the railway lines in Germany and Austria are equipped with this traction system, i.e. in the countries where the ComfortJet units will be deployed for regular operation.

The test runs will take place on the Prague – Berlin, Berlin – Hamburg – Flensburg – Kiel – Hamburg and Hamburg – Berlin – Prague routes. During the test run and its preparation, i.e. from 21 July to 26 July 2024, the ComfortJet unit will not be deployed on the IC 510 / 511 Ostravan (Bohumín – Prague – Bohumín) trains. These train services will be operated by a trainset made up of classical carriages.
