On the night from Saturday 30 to Sunday 31 March, the Daylight Savings Time will start and the hour hands will move forward by one hour at 2 a.m. Due to the missing 60 minutes, altogether twelve night trains of České dráhy which will be on their journeys at that time will be “delayed”. České dráhy will try to reduce the arising delays, for example by shortening the trains’ staying times at the stations. However, at the Bohumín and Břeclav stations, the transfer of the carriages between the individual night trains will be maintained and all direct night train connections will be guaranteed. Regional trains will not be affected by the time changeover, because all of them will only start their journeys after the changeover to the summer time.

For České dráhy, the changeover to the summer time means the introduction of special measures for the circulation of passenger carriages, locomotives and staff crew members. The national carrier’s aim is to avoid any possible subsequently generated delays carried forward to other trains during the day. In order to prevent delays from these night trains being transferred to other daytime services, morning connections will basically not wait for these “delayed” night trains.

Overview of long-distance trains of ČD and its foreign partners affected by the changeover to the Central European Summer Time (CEST)

  • EN 406 Chopin München – Warszawa will run from Ostrava (regular departure at 2:28 hours) to Warsaw with a delay of approx. 60 minutes; in Bohumín, a transfer of direct carriages from the EN 443 and NJ 476 trains departing from Prague and Budapest will be arranged for.
  • EN 407 Chopin Warszawa – München will depart from Břeclav (regular departure at 03:55 hours) to Munich with a delay of 60 minutes; in Bohumín a transfer of direct carriages to the EN 477 train to Budapest will be arranged for.
  • EN 442 Slovakia Michalovce – Praha will run on the section from Čadca (regular departure at 02:13 hours) to Prague with a delay of approx. 60 minutes; in Bohumín, a transfer of direct carriages from the EN 407 train from Warsaw will be maintained.
  • EN 443 Slovakia Praha – Michalovce will run in the Ostrava-Svinov (regular departure at 02:04 hours) – Michalovce section with a delay of approx. 60 minutes; at the Bohumín railway station the transfer of direct carriages to EN 406 to Warsaw will be ensured.
  • NJ 456 Graz – Berlin will run in the Pardubice hl.n. – Děčín hl.n. section with a delay of approximately 50 – 60 minutes, in the Děčín – Berlin section with a delay of approximately 20 minutes.
  • NJ 457 Berlin – Graz will run in the Brno hl.n. – Břeclav section with a delay of approx. 60 minutes, in the Břeclav – Graz section no delay is expected; in Břeclav a transfer of direct carriages to the EN 477 train to Budapest will be arranged for.
  • EC 458 Canopus Praha – Zürich will be delayed by 60 minutes on the Darmstadt (departing at 04:17 hours) – Zürich section
  • EC 459 Canopus Zürich – Praha will run on the Leipzig Hbf (scheduled departure at 05:45) – Praha section with a delay of approx. 30 – 60 minutes.
  • EN 477 Metropol Břeclav – Budapest will be delayed by approx. 45 – 60 minutes; there will be a transfer of direct carriages at Břeclav from the EN 407, EN 457 and IC 577 trains from Warszawa, Berlin and Praha.
  • The direct Praha – Zürich sleeper running on the EC 337 / EN 462 / NJ 466 train services will run in the Salzburg Hbf – Zürich HB section with a delay of approximately 60 minutes.
  • The direct Zürich – Praha sleeper running on the NJ 467 / EC 463 / EC 330 train services will run in the Salzburg Hbf – Linz Hbf section with a delay of approximately 60 minutes, but in the Linz Hbf – Praha hl.n. section it will run on time.
  • IC 579 Brněnský drak Praha – Brno will run on the Blansko – Brno hl.n. section with a delay of approximately 60 minutes.
